'Ozil back to his best'
Everton 2-5 Arsenal
Arsenal
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger told Sky
Sports: "We should have been 2-0 or 3-0
up, but we were 1-0 down. We didn't panic
and maintained our focus. Once we
equalised, it was all us for the rest of the
game.
"I was [concerned] because recently we've
been punished for every mistake we make
away from home. But I knew there was a
long time to go.
"Our away performances this season have
not been rewarded."
Is Mesut Ozil back to his best?
"I would say yes. I told him after the game
that a fit Ozil is completely different. If
you're not 100% at your best, no matter
how good you are, you are at a handicap."

Maybe, just maybe, signing the keeper
who conceded the most goals in the PL
last season; a centre mid who had
previously failed to make the step up
at Spurs and an unproven player from
the Dutch League for a total £100
million wasn't the best idea?
James, Salford
I don't think we were even this bad
under Walter Smith. To have spent
£140m and be in the relegation zone is
unforgivable. Koeman must go.

Everton 2-5 Arsenal
Ronald Koeman says he is 'very
disappointed' and points to the red card of
Idrissa Gueye as the real turning point in
the game.
Full reaction to come.

'No balance, no shape. It has to change'
Everton 2-5 Arsenal
Steve Claridge
Ex-Leicester striker, BBC Radio 5 live at
Goodison Park
On this evidence Everton are in real, real
trouble. There were very few redeeming
features about their play. There is no belief
in what they are doing and they are not
good enough to play like that.
There is no reaction to what is going on.
The fans have just given up reacting.
Apathy is too strong a word but they look
like they've had the guts knocked out of
them.
I don't expect Everton to change the world
but I do expect to pick elements where I
can see what Koeman is trying to do or
why he has recruited that player. There
was none of that today. The best they
could do is get men behind the ball. No
balance, no shape, the system didn't suit
the players and there was no quality.
Arsenal had five and it could have been a
lot more on the weight of Arsenal chances.
Before the game, Claridge said Koeman
should be shown patience. Asked if he has
now changed his mind: Yes, yes I have.
I am not advocating people leave their job
but something has to change quickly.

Everton 2-5 Arsenal
Arsenal ended the day with 30 shots, 14 of
which were on target. Jamie Carragher has
tweeted that 'Jordan Pickford had less to
do at Sunderland.'

'Ozil was crucial today'
Everton 2-5 Arsenal
Arsenal
Arsenal defender Per Mertesacker speaking
to Sky Sports: "We started really well, to go
1-0 behind was difficult, but we stuck to
our game plan and created a lot of chances
in the first half that we did not execute. In
the second-half we executed better, our
guys on top did it, it was crucial to have
Mesut Ozil today.
"We knew Everton were under pressure
and we took advantage. We don't need
anyone to judge what we do, the only
answer you can give is on the pitch. The
way we handled the situation away from
home was magnificent."

'We believed in ourselves'
Everton 2-5 Arsenal
Arsenal
Arsenal goalscorer Mesut Ozil told Sky
Sports: "We are so happy to win the game.
We knew it would be difficult but we
showed character. We believed in
ourselves."
On the fact it was the first time Ozil, Alexis
Sanchez and Alexandre Lacazette all
started...
"In training we always show our quality
together. Today you saw on the pitch. We
showed our quality and all scored."

Poch wants trophies
Tottenham v Liverpool (16:00 BST)
Alistair Bruce-Ball
BBC Radio 5 live
Bold words from the Spurs boss Mauricio
Pochettino in the programme today as he
talks about building on his team's excellent
performance in Madrid on Tuesday.
"We are ambitious and have wider
objectives, first to qualify from the group
and then to keep improving to win things,
both in Europe and domestically."
Tottenham's last major trophy was the
League Cup in 2008, their last league title
over 50 years ago back in 1961 and
catching Manchester City this season looks
like a very difficult task, but there's
certainly confidence in the camp that
they're on the right path.

'Everton are in trouble'
Everton 2-5 Arsenal
Steve Claridge
Ex-Leicester striker, BBC Radio 5 live at
Goodison Park
Out of 10? I would give Everton three. I
didn't understand what he was trying to
do. There are kids out there not ready,
players out of position. It can't go on.
We are sat here among some of the most
passionate fans in the country and they
look like they've been kicked in the
stomach. It looks like everyone has had
enough. I am struggling to think if I have
seen a worse Premier League side this
season. I think they are in trouble.

OK, enough is enough. Koeman has to
go. Whatever his plan is....nobody else
has any idea of what it might be.
Decent players but a clueless leader.
Steve T
Please sack him. Please. I know that it
won’t solve everything but I really
can’t see how we’ll improve under
Koeman. .
Joe, London
