In an interview with the Broadway TV, the Nollywood actress explained why she stayed back with her abusive husband before deciding to leave.

Mercy narrates tearfully that she stayed back with her husband because she loved him and because of her children, the people that looked up to her and most of all, her husband comes back begging both with family and friends promising not to repeat his actions but does it again contrary to his promise.

She continued by saying that it is not like she wanted to leave but she wants to keep herself from harm.

She told the Broadway TV that her husband was the infidel one and it was well known to her,it was his attitude and decided to keep quiet about it because when she brought it up, it brought up violence from him.

The last straw that broke the carmel's back was the last beating.

According to her

"On the day of the incident, Mercy had informed her husband that she was attending a burial of her colleague. After his hesitance, she explained that it would not be fair on the lady since she had promised to be there and even invited him to come along"She said that he got furious with her when she did not pick him up because she was at her designers place. He drove to that place and started beating her. She said he was behaving like he was possessed. He was beating her while she reminded him that she has a child for him.

Mercy reveals that due to this physical attack from her husband, her health has been challenged for sometime now. She has been coughing and sneezing out blood, while her sight is already affected.
